Workshop on “HMMM”
“Kathy Kennedy’s HMMM workshop offers an opportunity for working together in a new context. HMMM provides an enhanced listening environment, and a friendly, positive space for self-expression. While exploring the commonalities of all voices, this series of activities explores and celebrates individual expression. The workshop does not focus on singing, but explores a more general orality that is available to non-singers alike. Musical improvisation is a multi-layered conversation, and a playful approach is taken to explore this activity which leads invariably to better collaboration and cooperation. Kennedy is a certificate holder of the esteemed Deep Listening practice of composer Pauline Oliveros. Several decades of this practice has led K. to refine her HMMM series.”
