The 7th International Conference on Arts and Humanities 2020 was successfully held from 17th -18th September 2020 virtually under the theme “Imagination and Freedom”. The Conference Convener Mr. Isanka P. Gamage (Co-Founder & Managing Director – The International Institute of Knowledge Management (TIIKM), Sri Lanka) put the welcome remarks. The conference was also addressed by Conference Chair Dr. Eldad Tsabary (Concordia University, Canada) and Co – Hosting Partners Mr. LI Siu Kit (Caritas Institute of Higher Education, Hong Kong) and Associate Professor Dr.Tazul Izan Tajuddin (Dean, Faculty of Music, University Technology MARA, Malaysia)

Professor Gabriela Pérez-Acosta (National Autonomous University of Mexico, Mexico) delivered the speech titled “What Can Neuroscience Tell Us About Musical Imagination?”. Dr Golam Sarwar Chowdhury (Notre Dame University, Bangladesh) delivered the speech titled “Literature Over the Centuries”.

FEATURED WORKSHOP
As a follow-up to the keynote presentation on “Seeing beyond what we see”: The role picture book illustrators play in the development of a child’s imagination””, this workshop was moderated by Dr Aileen Pugliese Castro (Concordia University, Canada). The interactive workshop provided the participants an opportunity to test their imagination as they reflect on their life history and the experiences that foster their imagination. Through a hands-on art making activity, participants were able to produce a paper book and illustrate their book exploring the possibilities of imagination.
