International Conference on Arts & Humanities 2014 will address the themes in the field of art & humanities. Areas such Visual and performing Arts, Folklore and Ethnomusicology , Linguistics and Multilingual Studies, Film/Media and Graphic Designing, Culture/Religion and Ethnic Studies, Anthropology/literature and some more related topics will be examining in this conference. We are also arranging a “Sinhala” Session for the local participants. The program consists of inspiring keynote presentations, case studies, research presentations and interactive sessions by world-class, researchers, scholars and professionals, industry leaders.
Sessions will bring researchers from across the globe together to discuss broad questions of common interest and provide a platform to establish relationships with new colleagues. Conference Co-ChairDesamanya Prof. J.B. Disanayaka
Emeritus Professor of Sinhala, DesamānyaJ. B. Disanayaka, occupies a prominent place among the Sinhala scholars in contemporary Sri Lanka. In 2007, he was appointed as the Ambassador of Sri Lanka to Thailand and served as a diplomat for four years. Prof. Disanayaka’s renown in linguistics attracted the attention of academic and public domains. He has had a major influence on Sinhala language and grammar, and a significant effect on a range of other areas from culture to journalism, children’s literature to language technology
Professor Gary E. Swanson
Professor Gary E. Swanson is currently the Mildred S. Hansen Endowed Chair and Distinguished Journalist-in-Residence at the University of Northern Colorado, USA. Swanson was a Fulbright scholar to China and lectured at Tsinghua University as well as the Communication University of China from 2005 to 2007. Before his position at University of Northern Colorado, Swanson was the Director of Television and Assistant Professor at Northwestern University, Medill School of Journalism in Evanston, Illinois, USA; teaching mostly graduate broadcast students on the Evanston, Chicago and Washington D.C. campuses. Swanson has been an educator since 1991.
