The Success Story of ICOAH 2017

 

The 4th International Conference on Arts and Humanities 2017 organized by The International Institute of Knowledge Management (TIIKM), Sri Lanka together with collaborations of the School of Languages, Literacies and Translation , University of  Science Malaysia as the Hosting Partner, Concordia University, Montreal – Canada as Academic Partner . The conference was held on 21st – 22nd September 2017 in Colombo, Sri Lanka. ICOAH 2017 was organized under the theme “Arts and Humanities: Global Vision for a Changing World” and was chaired by Dr. Eldad Tsabary, Electroacoustic Studies, Music Department, Director, Concordia Laptop Orchestra, Concordia University,Montreal, Canada.

 

The opening remarks of ICOAH 2017 were made by Conference Chairs together with Mr. Isanka P. Gamage (Managing Director, The International Institute of Knowledge Management), Programme chair of the conference.  Key note forum was the one of most prestigious moments during the conference and it was enlightened by the key notes on “Ground for Democratic Education: The Internal and External Workings of Learning through Making Art” delivered by Dr. Eldad Tsabary, Conference co-chair and “Translation and its relevance as a tool for sensitizing culture and thought in the reader” delivered by  Professor Dr. Tengku Sepora Tengku Mahadi, Universiti Sains Malaysia, School of Languages, Literacies and Translation. The key note session value added to the conference while creating a meaningful moment for participants.

The conference comprised of fourteen technical sessions and a poster session where researchers from around the world presented their research findings. The technical sessions as follow.

She obtained her PhD (in Legal Translation) and M.A. in Translation (French-English) from University of Surrey, UK and B.A. (Cum Laude) from Linfield College, USA.

All accepted abstracts will be published in the conference abstract book with ISBN. All full papers will be accepted through a double blind reviewed process and will be published electronically with ISSN in proceedings with a DOI Number (DOI prefix: 10.17501).

We will submit the proceedings to be indexed in the Thomson Reuters, SCOPUS, Mendeley, Google Scholar and CiteULike for possible Indexing.

Special Workshop

 

This workshop was conducted by Dr. Eldad Tsabary, Electroacoustic Studies, Music Department, Director, Concordia Laptop Orchestra, Concordia University,Montreal, Canada and Conference Co-Chair under the  theme “A Sound Walk: Reclaiming Our Ears”. The occasion was graced by participants to the conference over the world and they shared their insights among global gathering. The workshop convinced them that currently addressable streams and chapter of the field which will focus future of Arts and Humanities.

ICOAH 2017 provided a solid platform for over 120 researchers, stakeholders and policy makers from across the globe to share their research findings with one another and to discuss the policy implications. The conference provided a refreshing experience for all, especially for the young researchers who had the opportunity to share their research findings on an international platform. The conference was enlightened by international researches representing followed Nations.
